cup runs, automatic promotion, playing players in their correct positions, not pissing off his players, not buying lame players... the more i think of what King's brought to this club the more i see your point of view...  :-))(

It annoys me when people say he got us into the Play-Offs!, mmmm yes he did but didnt we have a great chance to get automatic promotion as unrealistic as that sounds, we luckily got a Play-off place with a point from the last game of the season.

Regardless of us struggling lets keep him cos we got in the Play Offs 2 seasons back. :?

The only reason we had a great of automatic promotion though was King, what other reasons are there? We had no right to be promoted.

Automatic promotion was always a long shot though, we needed to beat Plymouth to make it 12 games unbeaten and then hope that qpr and plymouth screwed up and we won most of the rest of our games.

Exactly so 100% down to King then because as far as I can remember he bought both of them!

Yes i admit he's a good scout but thats where it stops!.

So if we get relegated will you still say he's a good manager because we reached the Play Offs two years back?.

Stop...Living...in...the...past

Yes King did well two seasons, ago that isnt a reason to keep him though.

Getting into the play offs two seasons ago wont win us any matches this season, getting into the play offs two seasons ago wont help us fight relegation.

The play offs were two seasons ago, this is the hear and now.

Gerard Houllier won what, 6 trophies at Liverpool....still got the boot didnt he

Dv85, King has proven he can do well for us and has not failed during any of his seasons at the club so there's no reason to replace a manager who has proved he can do a good job with near impossible constraints with another manager who  more likely than not won't be up to the task.

Never failed?

What was it Kingy said before the start of last season, something along the lines of

'Anything less than last season is a failure'

Well, 11th or 12th place!! is certainly a bit lower down that 5th, so by his own standards (which he of course changed through the middle of the season  ) he failed.

King has proven he COULD do well for us, again that was two years ago.....doesnt count for anything now and he certainly isnt doing well for us now....NOW, NOW, NOW, NOW!!!

The anything less than last season is a failure was merely a target King set for the team and at that time he didn't know about the missed vat bill etc.

Failed by his own extremely high standards but not a failure under the circumstances. 2000/2001, 2001/2002, 2002/2003, 2003/2004 and 2004/2005 were not failures.

Last season was a failure, you go back and drag up all the posts from before the 2004/2005 season.

I'm sure there was not one person there who said anything along the lines if

'Finishing 5th last season was a jolly good showing, if I do say so myself. However I'm really looking forward to finishing mid table this season. Steps back are always good fun. tallyho!!'

You just said yourself King set himself a target and he didnt reach it, that is failure....

Last season King said that the Play-Offs were a reachable target, then he questioned why the fans expected a Play-Off place!?. :?
