Tough one call due to Carlisle’s recent player recruitment so would be happy with a draw.

He’s the long version!

Decent write up about us.

This. He's had one good game. Ofobohr in for Cotterill is the change I'm hoping for. And maybe Glatz for Westley

100%.

I can only assume Ofoborh is in and out of the team to protect him from being over played as he's had a difficult last few years.

Glatzel. There's a massive player there. I really hope that goal kick starts something.

Ofoborh, it’s Ofoborh.

                 Bycroft
       Clarke    Wright    Delaney
Sobowale                      Butterworth
          Ofoborh  Kilkenny
                  Nichols
          Smith    Westley/Tshimanga

Clarke in that weird sort of half CB, half CDM role between Wright and Sobowale. Nichols behind the strikers to make the most of his link up play, felt we missed a player in there doing that first half against Tranmere. Tbf you could put any of the other strikers in next to Smith, as long as it’s not just a front 3 combination of Smith, Westley, Drinan, Tshimanga, Glatzel. Think you need 1 different with those and Nichols is our closest to it.

Only concern would be Butterworth from the start at LWB, if you wanted to shore that up then put Hall into CB with 3 proper CB’s, Clarke into midfield for Ofoborh/Kilkenny.

Either way, think this may come as 1 win too many for us, would take the point (sad to say).

I can't see Holloway being so suicidal as to start Butterworth at LWB.

Sobawale or McGregor playing on the wrong side makes sense but I'd hope McGregor would be managed back in rather than coming straight back to the starting XI. So I'm expecting Cain to be the one to get the nod.

I think this is going to be a difficult game to get a win from but we've still got enough to get a point.
Going for an ugly but satisfying 1-1.

Pre match Be Just and Fear Not, or else, in The Woodrow Wilson.
A decent ale selection here compared to The William Rufus just down the road.
Name dropping when naming pubs, bah.

Would highly recommend a visit to the West Walls Brewery & Taproom, opens at midday.

Coming up yesterday was preferable to working for a living.
Managed to avoid being challenged to a bout of Ecky Thump by crazed Cumberland Sausage waving locals so far. Would take them a bit more seriously if they were wielding black puddings instead.

Welcome to Nearly Scotland & the wild frontier of the far northwest.
No barrier in place to prevent a mini Pictish invasion today (Wiltshire ex pat branch).

May or may not get home in good time tomorrow due to striking very well paid Avanti West Coast train managers.
All good fun.

Historically the most besieged place in the country.
Would be good to see the Carlisle goal surrounded with intent today.

Mrs Holloways interest could be piqued by another away venue, after Newport & Colchester, with connections to Arthurian legend & Carlisle has the added bonus of a 1000 plus word 16th century curse that could do with sorting out. If they ask nicely.

If football history is to be counted before Sky invented the game then Carlisle had the misfortune of becoming the first club to play in all 5 divisions at the top of the pyramid in 2004-05.

They must be close to having the dreaded, disgruntled “bomb squad” in training.
Of passing interest will be to compare their starting lineup today with that of the first game.
Of much greater interest will be how we approach it today.

Wouldn’t surprise me if Holloway makes changes.
The first half performance on Tuesday should have caused concern.
I counted at least 3 formation / positional changes in that half, Cotterill in particular failing to impress in various different areas of the pitch.
The mighty Ofoborh will be needed today that’s for sure.

No problem with Freckleton being brought back into the fold.
There’s a good defender in there somewhere but use him at LB or LWB.

So, a quick & easy quiz question, which former Town manager featured in Carlisle's only season in the top flight?
A gold plated mounted pair of Bamboo’s curly brackets will be on their way to the lucky winner.

Anyway, most important thing is that we emerge with at least a point.
The dreaded LSpod Max factor presence notwithstanding.

Odds wouldn’t favour a 4th league win on the bounce anyway. The unlikely event of 3pts would certainly warrant a jolly swagger along Botchergate this evening but best to keep the trusty but much underrated Wiltshire sausage holstered.

Would take a scrappy low scoring draw today.
The answer to WB’s quiz question is John Gorman.

Correct!

Don't know if he still dabbles but pretty sure that the artwork used to be available for purchase online.

We've had a few good wins whilst not playing particularly great whilst, judging from their own comments, Carlisle have lost a few games whilst playing quite well recently. The games they have seem to be close, 1-0 types and I do feel we'll lose this one. Not sure this team is quite capable of 4 in a row and Carlisle have a lot of new bodies, not to mention they need to win desperately and they seem bang up for it.

I'll go for 1-0 Carlisle.
Gonna be a tough game for sure, Carlisle fighting for their survival more than we are now.

No wholesale changes in team needed but Tshimanga may have earned a starting spot at the expense of Westley and Cain probably for Cox if Ollie doesnt fancy dropping Chard or freckles in there today and I would much prefer Ofoborh for Cotterill who was poor in his last few appearances.

A draw would be a good result but if we did win then I would say that our survival would be pretty much sorted 100% with a 16 point gap between us and them.

and who'd have thought any of us would be saying that at the beginning of December? What a turnaround. Massive credit to Holloway, hopefully he can keep the momentum going that he's managed to build...

Absolutely mate, certainly not me. He has worked near wonders with the team he inherited from Kennedy.
