Quite a good game that. Liked the look of McCormick and Longelo/McGurk played well. Making a habit of not knowing when we are beaten.

It was clearly a team just thrown together today but that was actually a really fun game to watch. McCormick looked very good & Foyle was impressive when he came on.
It's a shame any who do well will leave at the first bid because otherwise we could genuinely have a golden generation coming through.

Great to see the lad McGurk get on the scoresheet with the type of goal his early technical ability would attribute to in any division or cup. An absolute stellar finish in close quarters. I thought Mitchell did well, showed desire and determination to win the ball back. He's raw but there's a very developable player there. Nice to see confidence from Glatzel to keep on having a go. His awareness will evolve as he grows as a player, so will look for those better options. Not going to berate him for application though and being captain for tonight was a no harm kind of project, in a low risk game. Not Butterworth's biggest fan but he combined well with McGurk to take his goal very well. All in all, it was just a reserve match, with a bit of pocket cash thrown in. As for the Spurs fans heading to the bogs every so often...I'm sure they were just powdering their noses, like any self-respecting gentle lady would

Town were fairly staid tbf in the 1st half but it sounded like they came out supercharged for the 2nd and when the pic. came back they looked really fluid and sound. Pleasing performances from the youngsters (Ameen aside who couldn't get involved) with the midfield and FBs linking up well and the forwards giving them options.
I would note that the referee was blowing up for very mild grappling by L2 standards. The game was quite a bit cleaner and softer than what will await on Saturday.

Those games will never have the intensity needed to show players at their best, but there were signs from McGurk that he is the missing cog we need, whether at the front of a midfield 3, or more likely as a wide forward with licence to drift inside. McGregor goes from strength to strength. I’ve been wary of building him up too much, but his confidence is phenomenal, with the ability to back it up. Sky is the limit there.

We shall see how it pans out but McGregor was the best "youth" on the pitch tonight.

His voice did sound familiar. Thanks for that.
Simon Mann of Test Match Special I believe.
I mentioned that on pages 3 & 7! Don't mention it.

Tbf, I didn't ask for his name. I was replying to PV about BBCWilts comms calling a Spursy player ''Andypants''...I also heard similar from the Sky+ comms...just turns out, for at least the fourth time, it was Simon ''very'' Mann{ly}

I note that Barden made a save and McGurk rattled the crossbar when the 'technical fault' was ongoing. Had Spurs been a bit more clinical, we would have been in trouble:

Interesting post match comments from Holloway. It's nice (at the moment) to hear about the issues that he saw and changes that he made. Its obvious he knows what he's talking about, even if he puts it across in an irreverant way at times.
Also, worth listening to the end and the comments about McGurk. That was the most intriguing thing about the whole interview imho.

Unmarked at the back post. King lost his man.
Just watched the highlights Bit harsh on King. There is an audibly clear shout from Delaney for the back line to step up - which King does. Unfortunately it’s the youngster who doesn’t hence why he’s the only one near a Spurs player. Great goal by McGurk - such little back lift as well. I can’t fathom why we’ve had a succession of managers who haven’t tried to build the team / formation around him.

Holloway alludes to the McGurk exclusion under Kennedy not being the manager’s fault. Could mean any number of things, possibly disciplinary. Water under the bridge now.

I think he meant that McGurk's attitude wasn't correct - wasn't doing what he was told to do, etc...
