Pre match working class utopia in The Furness Railway.

When peering at Barrow from above in Street View, one can’t help but be impressed by the orderly grid layout of terraced houses juxtaposed with the smooth curves within the green spaces.
Much like a more modern version of the Nazca Lines but sadly overlooked for UNESCO World Heritage site status, it's just a matter of time.

Suspect that the BAE Systems employees who have to take their turn working in Barra may look at it differently though.

Some of the stops on the way here, Silverdale, Cark, Roose?! sound like a journey through Westeros.
Our football is dark & full of terrors.

As is usual for some away days in the far northwest
engineering works prevent a timely escape by train so a weekend medicinal sojourn it is.
Never mind, I’m a Sagittarian, we like to travel.
Apparently.

The near 7hr journey home tomorrow would be greatly buoyed by 3pts, even 1.

Looking at the positives, some green shoots of player promise are starting to appear, Kilkenny, Butterworth, Sobowale, Cotterill even, although absent today.
The overall team press has been pretty good as well, arguably the best since the promotion season. Still early days in that respect.

Looking forward to seeing Cox thrusting down the wing at some stage.

Hoping for an improvement in tracking back & closing down.
Essential stuff for being “hard to beat”.

Ofoborh? Yeah a shame that he looks to be out of the picture, but not the end of the world.
A more mobile midfield could yet work out but the focus of the microscope would then shift to Clarke if it hasn’t already.

If football clubs were minerals than Barrow would be hematite, hard but brittle & STFC would be iron pyrite, all false allure followed by a bad smell when it breaks down.

Enjoy the game folks.

I highly doubt that Kennedy will agree but I liked the look of Barden on Tuesday and would try him over Bycroft, also I would prefer Butterworth over Cotterill.

Personally I would go with this team.

                Barden
       Wright    Hall    Freckleton
Sobowale                             King
      Kilkenny  Butterworth  Clarke
            Smith    Tshimanga

I cant see for 1 minute that Kennedy will agree, maybe a little harsh on Bycroft but hes not started the season great and could do with some competition for a starting slot.

Wouldn't change much of that mate. Maybe Cox on the left and Minturn for Freckles. Thought personally Smith and Tshimanga might have had a run out together on Tuesday

I would pick Cox over king possibly if hes fit enough, rumours are hes not quite ready yet though.

I like the idea of Smith and Tshimanga up front. I love Glatz but hes just not fitted into the system yet really.

Cotterill is away with Wales so that's quite likely, I think it's harsh on Bycroft to be dropped having been beaten by two worldies.

Its not just that it was Walsall as well playing on my mind, last week he wasnt at fault for the 1st goal but I think his positioning for the 2nd was a little more suspect, but as I said it may be a bit harsh on him but I want Bycroft to know he has to earn his place in the team.
