Thinking of that thing I assume its at best a side hustle, can't see anyone being able to make a full time living reporting to the fanbase of a L2 club? as for the STFC.co.uk thing its an absolute gold mine.

I don't know, Barry Scott drives a Bentley off the back of all the money this site makes...

Glad to hear it’s not being put to bed. However, if it is, or help is required, I’d happily sell a Bentley to help keep it alive where possible (hosting/rebuild - time permitting). I also own stfc.uk if it’s wanted foc.

And that's the problem, isn't it - not just at L2 level but in regional reporting in general. People don't want to pay for or do not see the value in journalism - or that's what we've been led to think.

Fwiw, I can't go full-time unless there's appetite because what kind of idiot would stop the job that pays the bills without a job to go to... but we're going to offer a platform that has no obtrusive advertising, no invasive popups or unnecessary data gathering, that tackles our club from different angles, that reports news and that functions off an editorial agenda focused solely around the community it serves. And priced as low as is reasonably possible given overheads and external pressures.

If it doesn't work, we'll suck it up and deal.

Hopefully we can get the relatively small number of subscribers necessary to ensure it runs to the medium term (for transparency, we've put the window between 300 and 800 potential subs for Town - the two ends of that scale generate wildly different outcomes in terms of the product that can be produced).

If any of you TEFers would like to support The Moonraker, it'd obviously be appreciated massively. Hopefully when we launch on August 1 you'll see that we're trying to provide something that takes news delivery back to the people who read it. End of lesson.

Does this suggest its being taken on (in some form) by the club as if you remove the hyphens from the web address it becomes the official web address of the club (doesn't it??)

I'd gladly pay around 5quid per month to read decent journalism, with a fairly balanced angle, dedicated to the club. So long as it is independent of the club {I'm pretty sure it is/will be}.

I'm sure you can attract around 8-10% of the matchday fanbase, and as a starter for 10 or maybe nearer to 100, it's likely a good chunk here will be happy to help get the ball rolling.

Where can we find any more details, prior to launch Sam?
