I wonder what total cost it would be to take probably 30/35 people on an abroad camp, seems most League 1 sides go abroad but budgets don’t allow in League 2.

Half the team are going to Karachi on a training camp and the other half are going to a soccer school camp in Straya  Girl Giggle

Is PSG at home too much to ask for?

soapy tit wank.

I prefer the smaller grounds away to a championship/premier "11" at home. Just not the same small grounds every year.

Come on STFC. Surprise us.

Aren't we obliged to arrange those though?

Probably. it probably makes financial sense.

What do we use Melksham for in exchange for a friendly? I'm sure its something.

One of the youth keepers went there on loan towards the end of season before he got a season ending injury.

And tbf I'm pretty sure it's actually only the youths who are played at the friendly as well.

Was it Highworth last season they built it up as a first team friendly and then when the team was announced it was the U-18?

Pissed me right off that did, was a complete waste of an afternoon

It was indeed Highworth, that happened several years ago too. Evening kick off, got over there to realise it was the 1st year scholars with maybe a couple of 2nd year trialists in there. I was royally pissed off but learned my lesson & refused to believe them last summer.

I read this thread and it's almost as if you people have no comprehension of what pre season games are for.

You know they're not really for you as the spectator right?

They're local to avoid loads of travel on buses for the team when they're trying to get them fit. They play everyone including the kids to let the coaching staff get a look at them.

The weaker the opposition the more kids will play as a rule. It's not complicated. Honestly if none of you went to pre season away games the club would not give a shit. That's not what they're for. If Chippenham away winds you up then don't go ffs.
