It shows how stats can be misleading, Bradford had more possession, more shots, more shots in target yet (aside from our natural fears based on games this season) we didn’t really ever feel they were that threatening.

As for MOM, there were a number of good candidates but agree with most that Glatzel probably just about shaded it.

But special mention to the defence, who looked like they could defend, just goes to show what a bit of organisation can do. Was noticeable that FBT & Dokes didn’t make anywhere near as many runs into midfield.

A poor finishing display by us, only two shots or headers, despite the amount of pressing we did up to the penalty area.  Lucky to get the win, really, as their finishing was just as bad.

They weren’t great - definitely one of the worst we’ve seen this season.

Just shows the over statification of football. So many of them are meaningless

It wasn't so much that they were bad but that they were perfect opposition for how we wanted to play - a slow defence Vs Glatzel and RHM and a get the ball forward and chase it strategy. It's rock paper scissors and they picked wrong.

Now the question is did Gunning play like that to counter them or were we always going to play like that and just got lucky with the opposition? I guess we'll see when we play a different style of side.

I think they were both terrible and perfect opposition for us. That number 4 was the most unfit & immobile centre back I’ve seen since Dryden or Ruddock. Ash Thomas I think his name is, he’s a laughing stock amongst their fans.

But that’s where balance comes in. Playing a back 4 that looks like it lives off a stereotypical northern diet is only going to end one way. We saw something similar when we tried to play Reeves and Viveash in the same team.   We are at one end of the scale, Sutton and Bradford are at the other and the successful teams sit firmly in the middle.

Always much more pleasing logging in here on a Monday morning after a win and a decent performance. For me, one of those games where nobody was fantastic, but nobody was terrible either. (Tyrese/Ricky Shade/Shakes aside, although choosing to wear ice skates was an interesting decision) I thought McCarthy had a very solid debut, the defence looked much better overall but i'm not sure how much of that was down to just how poor Bradford was. We did give Cook a free header first half but luckily straight down the throat of Byfield.

I'm going to vote for Glatzel. With a seemingly rejuvinated RMH and a player full of energy in Glatzel, it took the weight off of Charlie up front and I was really impressed with Glatzel's movement and work rate. Won the penalty and got the assist for Devoy and generally caused Bradford's slow as anything defence problems. Green shoots for the new signings.

Paul Glatzel has, in two games, tied Charlie Austin's votes for the season. Poor Charlie, not had more than four votes for a game this season. He's also gone past L Ward, Genesini, Uwakwe, Cain (who at this point I may rename Jake Cain 0), Dworzak, RHM and Kokolo and is one short of Hutton (abandon democracy immediately) and a few more from Minturn.
