Great result over what is a formidable youth team going on their league performance this season. Very well done to Sean Wood and the players, and a crowd of 2k+ to watch, chuffed for them.

Who's next? I assume we'll be at home as we will be a 'minnow'?

I'm hearing that Man Utd academy are interested in signing a number of #STFC players after last night's FA youth cup match. Combined figure likely to be in four figures with Swindon paying all associated costs.

It was a good watch, very entertaining to watch on YouTube.

A few decent players on view for Town, highly likely that many will have been "spotted" and will be sold soon, but good luck to them.

The lad Ameen took the 2nd goal so well and TBH Utd rarely troubled us, nice to see 4 at the back in a Town side.

Enjoy your success lads, you deserved it.

Jeez the Man Utd fans taking this defeat to heart one even suggesting we knobbled the pitch on purpose, purrrlllease!

I think people underestimate the impact of this. The midfield couldn’t do their usual slick pass and move due to the state of the pitch and that may have been deliberate from Swindon. The teams capability has been demonstrated this season so whilst disappointing, this result is nothing to worry about.

Someone sign up and tell him we just have a shit pitch because we had to sack our alcoholic groundsman for stealing in the till at the bar and the new guy isn't as good.

How the other half live.

The pitch did look a bit rough in places nearer the Arkells.
Perhaps understandable given all of the recent heavy rain.
Probably not going to improve much either but it's not the only one judging from EFL highlights.

In fairness its had more concentrated rain and more use - so its not obvious. Apparently we have even had training sessions held on it.

Just some perspective, I recall some years ago that Man Utd's youth team played a pre-season friendly against Swindon's first team at The County Ground and won 3: 0.  I think that we were in League 1 at the time.  Don Rogers should give the pre-game team talk on Saturday.

Didn't look watered pre-game, but what can you do with frost at night?  Utd's comms clutching at straws, since when have youth team pitches have been consistently at EFL standard?  George Best used to play on paddy fields and like Don Rogers used to have a clean kit, nobody could get near either of them.
