No Hutton,no chances

The real joke comes when we sell him and then sign a target man who can get onto crosses just afterwards

I’m all for optimism, but how many saves did their keeper make? How many good chances did we actually create?

Think Crewe’s defence deserve a bit of credit for that…

None bar the goal. Not waxing lyrical. There was a slight improvement but doesn't mean it was good.

We’ve played worse.
Bit more quality in the final third and we win that. We got into a lot of decent positions out wide but never capitalised.

Same old issues that no one wants to address.

Crewe’s back line absolutely everything ours should be
But we lost...

No point saying if we had more quality we win the game...

Overall we were poor, and didn't look anywhere near scoring .......

Our approach play was poor , didn't CREATE any clear cut chances......

We still lost again....

No Hutton,no chances
TBF I thought Shade created almost as many chances today as Hutton does (he did set up the goal so got an assist) but most were blocked.

Shade takes his man on to try and get past him and Hutton crosses at his first chance, both as successful ultimately as the other in this current line up, which is not very.

He made a very good save with his legs for the RHM shot.

Its really simple. Hutton is wanted by other teams who will pay a fee. Shade we barely want, and his only value is he can play multiple positions equally badly. Hutton is clearly better, Shade is a downgrade.

Best for club to sell if he is not signing a contract, no problem with that. But i'm not having this shit about him not being missed.

Missing a target man in this team is such a problem.

Austin doesn't win the ball in the air very much. Is so slow he can't get ahead of the defender for a ball into feet/chest. I can't remember the last time we have been able to play off him, or use him as an out ball.

A proper target man helps so much for the other attackers.

Mind you, if getting a target man means signing that non league forward we failed to get when Wakeling left, then...oh dear.

It’s the first game so too early to write them off but we don’t have any creativity going forward without Kemp, and to a lesser extent Young.

We weren’t great again, but whilst Crewe were on top for most of the first half, how many clear chances did they create? Probably not many more than us

We didn’t create many chances but I think that was down to some very good defending as much as it was our lack of quality.

We had 8 corners so we obviously making them defend.

I know we like to look for the negatives in our team first and foremost but I genuinely thought Crewe’s back line was very solid.
