There's a weather warning in place for thunderstorms tomorrow afternoon.

Could do with some rain but hope it waits until 5.00

This will be my first live game since last autumn, I just want to go and enjoy the games I can go to while I'm actually in the UK.

If it's shit behind the scenes I'm very poorly placed as someone who has never lived in Swindon and now lives abroad to be able to do anything so I just want, for now and for the next few weeks, to enjoy the matchday experience while I'm around.

Hoping for something like a 3-0 / 4-1 but a comfortable 2-0 would be good too.

Firstly... the weather will be good cos I brought all the rain back with me to NZ.
Town will continue their fine home form and win 3.0 with 9328 watching Young Kemp and Shades score. Hoping RA will be there in his capacity of CEO. Never met the man but by default he is one of our own.

What are we thinking today then chaps?

Flynn seems to have suggested that someone is coming into the midfield and that Kinsella won't be fit...

For me, I'd move McEachran to the Khan position. He's been better at breaking up the play in the last few games I think.

Then Cain comes in for a chance to show that he has an EFL career ahead of him.

No change elsewhere.

I agree. I would think Kinsella first choice (if fit) and Cain if not.

Narrow 2-1 win today I reckon.

Hopefully we will be unchanged other than Kinsella (If fit or else Cain) instead of Khan.

No need to change the team otherwise, we created chances last week at Donny but failed to actually hit the target consistantly. Keep creating chances and we will score a few. We still had 14 shots but only the 2 on target and they were weak.

Charlie just needs to get his shooting boots on as hes creating chances for others but not yet being able to get any of the glory himself, but that will change soon I hope, he works his bollocks off creating but has been a bit wayward in front of goal himself so far.

I know at the time it seemed like we created pretty much zero.

There have been 5 meetings between us and Sutton previously with Town winning 4 and losing once, no game has ended with more than a single goal seperating the teams.

2023 Sutton  2-1 Swindon
2022 Swindon 3-2 Sutton
2022 Swindon 2-1 Sutton
2021 Sutton  1-2 Swindon
1981 Swindon 2-1 Sutton FA Cup

There have been 3 home games against them with Town winning all 3 so far scoring 7 and conceding 4 times.

They have started the season poorly with just 1 league win in the first game of the season followed by 5 consecutive league defeats, their only win otherwise being a win at Wycombe and a penalty shoot out vs Cambridge in the cup.

Results so far this season
Sutton  5-1 Notts C
Sutton  2-2 Cambrdge *EFLC
Barrow  2-1 Sutton
Sutton  0-1 Gillingham
Sutton  0-3 Wimbledon
Newport 3-1 Sutton
Wycombe 0-1 Sutton *EFLC
Sutton  0-1 FGR

Their current top scorer is Omari Patrick the free signing from Carlisle in the Summer on 3 goals with Beautyman and ex Town player Harry Smith both on 2 none of them have an assist so far.

Swindon go into the game with an undefeated record in 90 mins with 2 wins and 5 draws so far in all games with 2 wins and 3 draws in the league and are 1 of only 3 teams in L2 undefeated so far (AFC Wimbledon and Mansfield the other 2)

Jake Young is top scorer on 7 and Dan Kemp 2nd on 4 goals both also have 3 assists each.

Town currrently sit in 10th place on 9 points with a game in hand, Sutton sit in 23rd place on 3 points.

The only players involved who have played for both sides are Harry Smith for them and Lewis Ward for us.

Will be difficult against the more agricultural/attritional style of Sutton today who like the long ball to the big strikers and quick wingers and get men behind the ball, we will need some craft and skill to break them down.

They have played a straight forward 442 in every game so far. They play with out and out wingers Coley and Patrick and 1 big man up front (Smith/Angol) alongside a smaller striker (Kashket).

So far they have conceded 12 yellow cards and 1 red card, Swindon have conceded 14 yellows and no reds so far.
