I think that 99% of posters saw the lead member of the current consortium as the rising tide.  But time has moved on.  If you choose to ignore the fact that we could be passing through the league trap door, that seems a bit daft to me .

Couldn’t find the thread I was after so. I’ve just seen Glen Hoddle walk into a newsagents in Sunningdale. Looking his age now and looked rather stiff getting into his motor. Would have got a selfie but I was busy presenting to a customer, who actually pointed him out to me.

Even if Holloway can get the current team playing with a fraction of his enthusiasm & a smile on their faces - that would be enough to see improvement imo.

The teams current demeanour is pure Kennedy. Dull & clueless.

Agree with this.

Squad has plenty of quality for this level. Even with MK's disaster tactics we've not lost by more than the odd goal to anybody bar Walsall?

It doesn't need anybody to come in and reinvent the wheel. Just a change of attitude, some attacking freedom and some common sense in team selection would go a long way.

Despite what some say very much this.
I thought the squad was one player short, a Payne or Kemp type creative player to make it competitive.
In theory we have McGurk & Butterworth to do that job but not convinced either are good enough.

Obviously injuries haven’t helped but playing players out of position (and some bonkers substitutions) was Kennedy’s biggest downfall
Obviously injuries

Hope you're right. Issues that need addressing IMO :

Leaky defence :
- Injuries not helped but also likely to be continual
- Set pieces (again) - not sure what we do here. Do it "better" doesn't help, I assume they know what their task is.
- Playing  proper CDM is a help

Lack of attacking flare/pace:
- Not seeing where in the squad the supply comes from. We have several "nearly" players in Cain, McGurk and Butterworth.

Lack of  quality up top:
Drinan had a good game Saturday. Not a goal scorer though.
Tshimanga - not righting him off, but not seen much.
Puts a lot of pressure on Smith and Glatz.

Not a lot of pace in the squad in general.

But: Confidence is a big thing. Maybe a few wins and I'll be feeling silly.

Can’t see how McGurk can be judged seeing as he never gets a chance - like to know/understand why. Get him in with Obofore as CDM,Smith and Glatzel up top. I’d bin off Butterball and Cotterill. Not a fan of Cox either.

Reminds me of the Flitcroft/Brown crossover squad.  Dull, should be OK in the middle of the pack.  Obviously we are below that level right now, so it should be able to perform better, but I don't see anyone you'd take up with you in a promotion team.

I think when people say our squad is good, they mean "it's better than 22nd in League Two" not "this squad would be fine in the division above".

If by some vanishing miracle you did get promoted I think you'd basically start with Kilkenny, Wright and Sobowale as the only ones you'd be confident in getting much out of. McGregor and the kids obviously wildcards, and Smith is a handy Plan B. But not much else.

Of course, that is a long way from being our problem!
