I think we have the foundations of an okay squad but they’d have to play to Smiths strengths and not how it is at the minute with no one around him to get onto his flick ons. Get quality crosses in onto Smiths head in and around the box and get men around him. Sadly though we don’t have much width unless you’re playing wingbacks further forward so I’d go with 2 strikers floating around Smith.

If everyone was fit (which they won’t ever be) then I’d line up like this

                   Barden
McGregor Wright Hall/Delaney Cox
            Ofoborh  Kilkenny
     McGurk/Butterworth/Cotterill
         Glatzel           Tshimanga
                    Smith

4231 all day long

                    Barden
Sobowale Wright Other fit CB Cox
                Ofoborh Kilkenny
McGregor        McGurk           Longelo
                      Glatzel

…but…obviously we can’t play that because I haven’t shoehorned in Freckleton & Cotterill

I would like to see another manager have a go with our squad. Have a good run up to Christmas- push for play offs in the new year. Maybe that’s wildly optimistic.
Weed have to better most league champions form average to do that

I wonder if there ends up being some compromise where Kennedy takes a 'leave of absence' which probably means Gav and Bignot take over for a period and the club decide if he can come back in.

With what happened to MK in pre-season and since then it's been a perfect storm of disaster with injuries to the experienced players, the old 'managed minutes' of those playing and results going badly at home especially.

In any other walk of life you would say to Kennedy take some time out to sort yourself but we know football doesn't work like that.

What you mean give Kennedy a holiday? I don’t think that’s going to happen. I suspect he has certain minimum targets in his contract - after a quarter of the season he hasn’t achieved them so it’s goodbye.

That sounds far too sensible for us.

Heard a rumour regarding Bodin and Tom Jones as assistant (not that one! Our 90s one) Not putting much weight to it but thought I'd share. But we all know it's going to be mad Gav

If he goes, we will end up with Gav again anyway so why not say to MK come back in X weeks and give him and the team some breathing space.

A lot of the problems are inherent in the club and structure and won"t go away with MK. We've gone for experienced but unfit players and can't get 90 mins each week out of them so end up rotating or sticking with out of form loans.

Cant see this at regarding Bodin and Jones. Bodin would be mad to get involved with this lot, and i dont think Jones has even been involved in professional football for at least 15 years?

Nice.

Pete O’Rourke reporting Kennedy set to be sacked

Did seem an odd order of events yesterday. Presumably sorting severance pay.
No pleasure in someone losing their job whatsoever. Especially at Town.
Didn't help himself with the refusalto acknowledge the issues mind. Must have got wind of it given the "give managers time" and "whoever leads them out saturday" comments after Tuesday's game.

I’m sure it’ll be Bignot, or even Sean Wood or Mildenhall combo. The optics of giving it to the guy who managed us to our lowest league finish ever, a matter of months ago, would be laughable.

Not sure where they should turn next.
