If Kennedy is gone, this managerial appointment is almost certainly the most important at least since we appointed Garner after that summer. The club really do need to get this right or we'll be staring down the barrel of non-league football for at least the foreseeable future. Whomever it is, I don't envy them

Who’s the 5/6 at the minute in your mind?

I reckon Wright and Kilkenny get into most XI’s, pre swindonified Cox would be close. Don’t think there’s much else there that walk into most XI’s.

You could make an argument for what he’s good at, most squads could find a use for H.Smith.

I reckon pre-swindlefied Wright, Kilkenny, Glatz, Ofoborh? That’s 4… you could say Clarke and Hall but they would probably hobble in

Well, there's 4 that I was thinking. Add McGregor and Glatzel maybe Delaney when fit ditto Clark

I would like to see another manager have a go with our squad. Have a good run up to Christmas- push for play offs in the new year. Maybe that’s wildly optimistic.

I think we have the foundations of an okay squad but they’d have to play to Smiths strengths and not how it is at the minute with no one around him to get onto his flick ons. Get quality crosses in onto Smiths head in and around the box and get men around him. Sadly though we don’t have much width unless you’re playing wingbacks further forward so I’d go with 2 strikers floating around Smith.

If everyone was fit (which they won’t ever be) then I’d line up like this

                   Barden
McGregor Wright Hall/Delaney Cox
            Ofoborh  Kilkenny
     McGurk/Butterworth/Cotterill
         Glatzel           Tshimanga
                    Smith

McGurk out of those 3 and Ameen/ Drinan instead of Tshimanga and I'm with you

As much as I like McGregor,  think being an out and out fall back wouldn't suit him. Really want to either play him as a wing back as we are now or a winger imo

Perhaps the club did an intervention & told Kennedy not to talk the press on account on him spouting absolute bollocks.

I don’t know how contractually forced certain media obligations are but if there was ever a time for the manager to shut the fuck up & concentrate on the football - it’s probably now (…well a month ago)
