I can’t imagine, you or I (or anyone) have any idea how well regarded Fods was at Palace 11/12 years ago or how well regarded Brynn is a ‘boro right this second…
Going by scout reports which are available to see if you know the right people and through the PFSA scouting network database, Palace coaches at the time had suggested that Fods was not tall enough to become a decent keeper.

At Boro their manager Wilder recalled him from QotS last season to put him on the bench for some games and to see if he was progressing as good as he appeared to be in Scotland during his loan spell which suggests they rate him high enough to be 1st reserve keeper(at that time).
