Surely Garner must be on shaky ground after todays result.
Was disappointed when he left STFC and we ended up with SL
However SL has become a straight talking type of manager and it seems Garner a loser.
If Charlton are bundled out of cup next week suggest he will be an unemployed loser.

I think their problems lay above the level of the manager. Doesn’t stop you being right about his employment though.

Oh what a shame Garner !!!
Looks like the Honeymoon period is over for you.
Real pity that you took Jack Paine and Scott Marshall.

Always refreshing to read an outpouring of angst from fans of another team.

Was expecting that thread to be a new one that maybe sprang up after last night, but no it's actually been going for a couple of months. Smiley

I think Garner coming out publically a week or so ago saying how the board havent backed him as much as he was promised is a telling thing.

Hes obviously walking on thin ice there, I will give him 1 more defeat and he willl be asked to leave his office and possibly his last job in league level 1st team management and will probably go back to doing what he does best, academy football coaching.

Only 9 wins from 29 games with a pretty large wage budget is a bit shit, just a 31% win ratio but also a loss ratio of more than a quarter of games he has managed.

Charltons owner is not known for his patience. Previous manager Johnnie Jackson was sacked with a win ratio of 37% (47% if you count his caretaker results).

He'd get another L2 job if he wanted one, it's the Wellens trajectory. Agree he'll probably settle in as an U23 boss at some point mind.

Neil Critchley would be a perfect replacement for Garner, did great at Blackpool, works well with young players and has many links to big clubs for loans etc and is now out of work since Gerrards sacking a couple of weeks ago.
