Hugely disappointing, but I don't think this is a Southgate out, sack them all, drop everyone thing. We went toe to toe with the best team in the tournament and we were better than them. The luck broke the other way, as sometimes happens. I can't be angry with that performance, it's just shit luck. Wrong WC to win anyway, let's regroup and win in the USA in four years.

Agreed. I think we need to find another centre half to replace Maguire and would prefer someone with a bit more oomph at left back, with maybe someone a little more creative to add to the middle. But the team put together a pretty good performance today. Anyone fancying a room in 4 years can kip at mine, games in Atlanta. I'll take winning that one. |
