England to win on penalties...

I won't be watching that.

Ronaldo being a petulant twat stomping off straight down the tunnel without even shaking hands or congratulating the Moroccan players. What a cunt.

I used to defend him quite a lot as a guy, always thought he got a bit of undeserved grief. But he’s acted absolutely terribly the last few weeks, I’m not sure what has happened to him. He’s become thoroughly dislikable

I’m thinking England edge this 2-1 in extra time. Keeping Mbappe quiet is obviously key, and therefore so is Kyle Walker. Not many can match the Frog’s speed but Walker can. Looking forward to this

Genuinely, it must be incredibly hard from being the absolute greatest at something to not being able to compete on the same level. He's always been incredibly driven and done everything he can to maximise his personal achievements. But father time comes for everyone sooner or late. He's handling it really badly, but it's not an easy transition. Lots of greats have really struggled.

As for the England game, I think France start favourites but it's not totally hopeless. As much as Mbappe is a threat, I do worry about doubling up on him and leaving space for Griezmann or Dembele who are plenty good enough themselves. Still, they should be worried about Kane, Foden and Saka - this is two sides with conservative coaches, but more talent at the top end of the pitch.

I think he may be struggling with his mental health. Losing a child, and your career coming towards the end must have an effect

I agree with both you and what Nemo said above. He’s always seemed very well put together in general but you absolutely cannot discount what the kind of trauma he’s been through can do to a person

Invade, nothing for it, they've leant nothing from Agincourt or WW2.

that was a foul on saka before the goal . Good finish though.

what's the VAR rule on kane? definite foul but just outside at start. I assume var can't overrule ref if it's just a foul
