Christ - its the world cup. If that doesnt get you going you cant be a football fan

It stopped being the pinnacle of my Football calendar a long time ago.

I'll watch it off course, but swindon getting promoted means more - assuming England don't win it if course

wow Horlock, what an absolutely staggering admission that you, most of your family and friends and even your peers are not and can no longer be described as football fans.

You must be hurting big time with that admission.

TBH I know you are taking the proverbial but you probably not far from the point. Very meh about football generally this last year or so, bar keeping a comparatively distant eye on town the only reason I take any notice is it gives me something to discuss with my FIL (Liverpool fan) and neighbour (Etihad Season ticket holder).

It does'nt feel the same does it!?

I will watch as much as i can all the same.

Wishful thinking but i am hoping that the closing ceremony signals the end to FIFA corruption.

Toney over Gallagher or Philips as there's plenty of midfield cover.

Odd you couldn’t find a place for Toney in a 26 man squad.

Really odd considering he's been playing well for ages and goals win games. Southgate being a bit too cautious when he dosen't need to be.

Putting the money aside it's a real disappointment for him as it may be his only chance of representing his country at a World Cup.

Wouldn’t have happened if he’d stayed at Swindon

You may well be right as I don't really follow Athe African Wotld cup qualifying groups but it's still really disappointing for him as the opportunity may or may not come around again.

True. No guarantees wallacott will be Ghana's #1 in 4 years time though.

Absolutely no excitement for this world cup. Probably not even going to watch England's opening game with it being right in the middle of the work day. Think the lack of pre-tournament friendlies doesn't help but the main factor is the time of year and the hosts

Just realised that my World Cup planning has a major flaw. Assuming we win our group then our round of 16 game kicks off just as I land in Morocco. To expect to be out the airport and in a resort bar much before the final whistle is highly unlikely. Finish second and we’ll be belting down the runway as the first G16 game kicks off. It gets worse, win and we’re playing on 10th which is a Saturday. 3pm game means I’m at work. 7pm game we’re supposed to be going out for a meal with some new acquaintances. 🙄
