According to the above link, we lost 2-1 at home to Kenya (yes, Kenya) on this day 20 years ago, in a friendly match played at Wanborough.
Does anybody have any recollection of this fixture?

As widely reported in the World Press, Kenya went on to win 1-0 in their subsequent Africa Cup qualifying match against Cape Verde...

Not African Nations-related but, as an aside, does anyone recall when I think "Swindon" [rather than "Sweden"] featured in a televised World Cup Group table?

Commentator said it last tournament I think or the one before, not sure if that is what you're remembering.

Must have been the last one as he had a little dig and a joke about what a shambles we were with the squad situation at the time.
