Except for Sobowale 😢

I think you could probably argue Wright as well. Not that he's been dreadful recently, but he was the sole beacon of light in a shit team for most of the first third of the season. Formation and style suits a ball-playing centre back less, it's not a surprise really.

I thought Wright’s mother died recently- that may also have impacted his form in the last few games.

Couple of interesting snippets from the Adver presser today. Holloway reiterating a disappointment in the budget and our scouting network (no surprise there) and McGregor’s agent asking for too much to renew his contract.

Sigh, nothing unsurprising there but sigh nonetheless

More evidence that the current owners dont appear to have the means (let alone competence) to run a successful football club at this level.

Most league clubs run at a substantial loss and it therefore needs an owner with very deep pockets to compete and progress, let alone stand still.

A depressing picture which will likely undermine Holloways excellent work with the players.

Therefore I believe the proposed development works needs to be voted against as anything that prolongs the owners stay has to be negative for the long term future of this club.

Also Holloway mentions about a pathway to the first team - what the fuck does Gavin Gunning actually do apart from sit on his arse on the bench? Isnt he the ‘first team pathway manager’ yet another jobs for the boys created

Quote
We can take up his next year, which we have done with some of the other ones. He will be on a higher level, I want to get a system in where you have escalators and you have that pathway. So in a few increments you go from basic to like a real pro. It is all about how you do it. I want that set in stone as something that we do. It makes things simpler, it doesn't half save some issues as you have a firts year pro contract and one for if you have already played

I see we paid the 5th lowest amount of agents fees in year to Feb 25, circa £43k.
Average was £114k

I would imagine we paid some consultancy fees instead, we largely use a single source and pay for data/expertise.

“ We can take up his next year, which we have done with some of the other ones.” - sounds like we have extended a few scholarships into a 3rd year.

He could have meant previously - Kanu is on a third year now, others have been previously. We'll soon see!

Shit like this and some still want to take the development proposals seriously. Try and develop a functional football club first.

I have a sneaky hunch that Holloway's exit strategy will be something along the lines of, the board not matching his ambition to build a successful club {and it will be a very valid strategy}.

A club can't legitimately run on buttons forever, even if they are brass {they're not}

The story about McGregors' agent seems to me like they want to take the money for him but deflect the reason for him leaving
