Hopefully they are picking up 100% of wages - otherwise extremely pointless…

Fair play, at least he is off the wages, I am sure he could have done ok in this current team if given a chance but his head was turned by his agent tellling him hes a great international player and he needs to be playing more often and at a better level.
And then he goes to Tranmere because nobody else wants him.
He's going to be the next Yasser Kasim

They'd let him go for free if they were prepared to do that. I'm guessing its like 70 to 80% and they realised that was the most they were going to get off the wage bill as no one wanted to sign him for free.

Or there's no signing on fee with loans? No idea obviously.

Or Tranmere don't have to negotiate wages with Khan? Let's say he's on £2k a week with Swindon, Tranmere pay him £2k a week if they pay 100%. If he was a free transfer, he'd be able to negotiate higher wages with Tranmere.

Quite plausible too.

Also, they don’t have to give him a 2/3 year deal. The downside for them, if he does well, is we could recall & sell him in January or he could just sign for someone other than Tranmere in the summer

Im still howling at the fact he allegedly turned down offers to the MLS, Championship, France and Saudi Arabia to go to Tranmere.

He didn't say they were offers to play football... I'm sure all those clubs are hiring stewards.

Bycroft Barden Redman Evans
Wright Hall Delaney Hart Minturn Freckleton
King Clarke Kilkenny Longelo Sobowale Ofoborh Cotterill Cox McGregor Mitchell Cain Kirkman
Butterworth McGurk
Smith Tshimanga Drinan Glatzel
Numbers wise looks better but bit of a wait and see for me on this squad. CB is where I’d look at with some concern beyond the first 3 which is strange as it felt like we signed 18 defenders. Guess Sobowale can deputise at RCB too.

Squad's pretty good, but not sure three at the back really suits it. Would much rather we played 4-3-1-2 or something with that, but Kennedy seems pretty wedded to three at the back.
We'll see how it goes, it feels like the first actual squad (rather than 15) we've had under Clem. Now over to Kennedy.

Mark Kennedy on Ofoborh:
I wouldn't say it is a complicated answer but a lot is about physicality. He has had a real health scare and not played a lot of football for his age. We have a lot of high level midfielders and he really needs to play football. Physically it is important that he gets that and it is difficult to do at our club. Yes [we might loan him out], he is a valued member of the squad but if he wants to go out on loan we would support that and if he wants to fight for it here then we would have him with open arms and he goes straight in when someone else is out. If I was him, I would like at my options of getting the most football.
