Great story Munich it's amazing when a place is mentioned there's always a story of someone with a connection many years ago.

Thanks Jimmy, you're welcome.

The Manpower office manager picked up me and a guy called Tony in Swindon early in the morning, for the drive up to Barrow. We had to pick up another guy in Gloucester, Gordon.  Driving on A417, by the time we got to the dip before Birdlip the snow was very thick and a lorry had jackknifed and blocked the road. We had to turn back and take a side road to the A345, eventually having to be towed the last few yards onto the main road by a friendly farmer with his tractor.
The weather improved a bit and we reached Barrow in time for the evening meal in the B&B (Probably the present day King Alfred). About 10 other Swindon guys had been there a week and they had hired two strippers to give a private show that night in one of the bedrooms. Tony, Gordon and I missed out on that...

Motor car - might try the bus one day.  I suppose I could get the 55 from Calne.

You missed the strippers😅
I can remember coming back from a night out in Gloucester it was snowing hard and we ended up pushing a van up birdlip hill to get it moving! Great memories

So how should the team approach this today?
High tempo start to try & get the early goal then control the game or adopt a more patient approach & conserve some energy for later on.

Banker's comments earlier in the thread indicate that Barrow won't be parking the bus.
An open game would suit us.

The desire of the team to get this challenge done was palpable on Tuesday night, but the crowd needs to do it's bit once again, which is always easier under lights for some reason.

How the time has flown.
The Roll of Honour for the fallen is a fine but very poignant thing.

Hopefully one more home game still to come after today.

Almost a sell out

4 left in the TE
14 left in the DRS
About 100 left in the Arkells
Reckon we've sold about 800 on the bank.

My calcs with 100 Barrow = 12,600

Barrow had sold 178 last night and pay on the day until kick off. We may get 13,000

Are you allowed to take cans of pop into the ground?

technically no.

I've only got busted once taking plastic pop bottles in my pockets. technically it was my son

they took the bottle tops off and still let us in.

soooo.. now I take a couple of spare bottle tops with me too Smiley

Last time I was on the Bank was for Burnley in 96, 0-0 if I remember.
Had a season ticket for the DRS at the time but the pull of the Bank was still strong.
Started out on the SB and many good memories & a fair few soakings as well, before having to relocate to the Shrivvy Road.

I just hope we get behind the team from the off, I think the atmosphere surprised FGR on Tuesday and it certainly raised the players.

More of the same please.
