Wanker Bowyer starts it yet they get fined just £250 more than us for what is almost a physical assault on Williams.
It WAS a physical assault on Williams.  If a rival coach pushed a runner on an athletics track, or you pushed a jogger in the park, it would be an assault.

The rest was the usual handbag remonstrations that never usually receive punishment in the professional game.

We're obviously calculating that the NEW regime being compliant is the better course of action should STFC have to face more significant punishment for the more serious breaches that look likely to emerge follwoing Pee Lower and Standing's court hearing.

I cannot imagine that -if say Mourinho or any other EPL coach, had pushed a timewasting oppo player like that - that the remaining 21 players would have just stood there passively, respectfully awaiting the referee's verdict.

Pee Lower vs Standing sounds like a quandary in the gents toilet.

Thing is no matter how hard the contact is, surely if a player raises his hand thats not good.  If a manager comes out of his area and raises his hand at a player then that really not right and getting away with it is just weak on the part of the authorities.

But its over.  And should be forgotten.  Until Salford and their legion of fan visit us.  Especially if Bowyer is still in charge which Im not convinced he will be.

It *might* be an assault in legal terms.

Other than than that - don't be silly.

Quote
assault
n   noun
1   a violent attack. ØLaw an act that threatens physical harm to a person, whether or not actual harm is done.
2   a concerted attempt to do something demanding.

Bowyer did none of those things.

TBF Bowyer did try to physically push him over and hurt him but his push was as far off the mark as a Kovar punch, I have no doubt he did TRY to hit Williams but he wasn't fast or accurate enough!
