The official supporters club have said the issue is due to the size of the flag. We've already got a whacking great Nuffield Health one on there though don't we?

Perhaps bradford need to get in contact with Mc wotsee and sponsor some steps on the SB. Probably be allowed then.

Presumably that's secured properly. Its the only reason I can think of.

Real shame.

I see Holloway is saying he is happy to take money out of the playing budget to get the pitch sorted

Great idea, restricting a crap budget even further to spend money on something that surely should be funded out of a differenr pot of money?

I thought the club waxed lyrical about how much they spent on the pitch last summer to solve all the previous problems? Obviously in not the right way!

Context is king.

He said they were relaying the pitch. He was then probed as to it costing a lot. He said we are relaying the pitch. He was then told that it hadn’t been done recently because it cost so much. He said we are relaying the pitch. When asked whether we have money for it, he said we are relaying the pitch. He was then asked if that meant money being taken from elsewhere . His response was that it was important. Then when asked if he would sacrifice money from the playing budget to make the pitch better, he said yes, because it’s important. (Something like that anyway)

He didn’t volunteer to reduce the playing budget to relay the pitch.

Yes all this was covered in the Moonraker article earlier in the week with implications etc.

I wonder is our longer ball style we are currently employing partly because of the state of the pitch?

With a better surface will we try and employ a more passing game or still rely on hoofing it to Smith, which is quite effective but a bit 1 dimensional.

A 7% cut to playing budget at this level is pretty big, also as Sam points out the U19 minimum wage will hit the club budget by another £100k so from a playing budget of £2.1m all of a sudden that goes down to nearer £1.8m.

Come on Clem, if you cant afford to make us viable on the pitch theres no point in us even considering a promotion push as mid table obscurity seems to be the long term goal.

If you cannot forward the club off and on the pitch just sell up and pass the ball to someone who can take us that next step to being a viable play off contender rather than just another Barrow, Harrogate, Bromley, Accrington, Morecambe, Newport or Cheltenham.

We are worth more than that as a club.

But Mr Morfini the giver of pitches is the messiah, its one of his greatest acheivements along with the legends refit and the club shop that took months.

Definitely a dark place we're in. Hopefully we keep Holloway and stay in the league for the short term. I can't imagine the shambles a season would be in league one under this ownership if we managed to scrape a play off win.

Club have seen sense over the Darby flag.

I wonder why that was?? Once again it takes a fans backlash to do the right thing

'Miscommunication' - Yep they was told no and then after seeing backlash from fans online decided to make a hasty retreat and put it down to a miscommunication so it does not look like they backtracked.

Derbyshire Times yesterday printed an article about (alleged) playing budgets at all the teams in League 2 this season, there are some massive underachievers in this list, but it shows that if the budget is further reduced by the pitch/minimum wage stuff next season down to roughly the £1.8m then we will very likely be a bottom 5 budget next term.

Also it highlights those footballing heavyweights Salford, Colchester Utd, Fleetwood, Grimsby and Cheltenham have noticeably bigger budgets than us all, all being around half or even a third of our home average attendance (barring Grimsby).

1. Newport County £1,475,188

2. Bromley £1,460,160

3. Harrogate Town £1,532,388

4. Morecambe £1,766,596

5. Crewe Alexandra £1,865,760

6. Accrington Stanley £1,876,056

7. Chesterfield £1,939,600

8. Tranmere Rovers £1,978,860

9. Barrow £2,000,596

10. Walsall £2,007,876

11. Swindon Town £2,220,608

12. Grimsby Town £2,243,852

13. AFC Wimbledon £2,230,956

14. Colchester United £2,723,188

15. Cheltenham Town £2,730,000

16. Fleetwood Town £2,750,904

17. Doncaster Rovers £2,800,772

18. Notts County £2,904,720

19. Salford City £2,962,024

20. Gillingham £3,046,940

21. Bradford City £3,298,100

22. Port Vale £3,645,600

23. Franchise £3,813,160

24. Carlisle United £5,419,000

Just another sign of the amateur set up, it's just more frustrating than anything that it was obvious that they would change the decision, correctly obviously, but the fact they keep making the wrong decisions only to get this backlash is so annoying.

They constantly make the wrong decision and the consistent silence around anything important is just painful (such as Holloway's contact & season tickets).

It's so obvious this ownership and set will never work. They can make all the promises they want, but after the 4th season of just the same old crap over and over, it's just obvious they are not possible of doing it and are just in it for themselves, as if they really cared they would have sold a long time ago, or worst case, at least tried to change the failing set up.

Where on earth did they get that from. The playing budget isn't derivable from the accounts, and the accounts aren't out until next season anyway.

Must have a "sauce" (sic)
