Great memories, grounds were atmospheric, systems were never mentioned, who cared if the pitches weren't green just good old fashioned football come win lose or draw

Whether it's done cleverly or not players are trying to con the ref, it's cheating, tedious and shit to watch especially when it's done under 'game management'.
Refs are to blame here as well. They never give a penalty and rarely a free kick unless the player goes to ground.

It's all about opinions but from a Swindon supporter excluding getting to the Premiership I loved the excitement as a schoolkid going to the County ground and many away games and for me the Arsenal home and away matches in 1979 are the most cherished as well as Kenny Strouds goal against Everton and the hot dog stand on fire against Spurs

For me it's the 1990s- as an STFC supporter and looking at things from a wider football perspective. Inevitably, one's age will have an impact.

Late 70s for me too, although I loved the way the club leapt back to life under Macari from 84 onwards, great times, way better than the 90s for me.

Same as JJ and I will never forget being on that wet grass bank at Springfield park 2-0 down at half time then we score 3 in the second half😀

I remember it well, like a 45 degree angle skating rink with about 1,500 Town fans on it. Some things are better now!

Totally with you Jimmy. Watford motd, Swansea games and of course our relationship with Gillingham. It has everything and one big adventure.

I think you need to be mid 50's or older to appreciate how good that era was Duke. Swansea away on the Boxing Day 79 was another fantastic day when we beat them 2-1 and got kept in afterwards listening to Rod Stewart's I am sailing blaring out the tannoy system
