That's true, but the fact that we haven't had any rain for ages makes the wicket easier to bat on. Furthermore, there is less swing when the conditions aren't overcast. So the batsmen have a significant advantage.
Add that to the fact that England dont have any top class bowlers and all of a sudden the opposition can consistently score lots!
test cricket is always better when the bowlers have the advantage. flat decks and mediocre bowling attacks make for a snooze fest.
mind you, the surface still resulted in us getting 6-7 ducks?
