Any suggestions on where to get a steam iron repaired? Ideally Swindon.

No idea, of course. But it sounds to me like one of those things where the faff just is not worth it and it's best to buy a new one.

It cost me over £150 as it's a steam generator one, so quite posh. A similar one are now £180.

Try Grace Electrical on Manchester Road. They have done a good job for me in the past, not steam irons, but they fix most electrical appliances..

You iron pretty quickly.
A 150 quid iron and it's broke? Think I'd get a cheaper one.

Does it have one of those little spray things on it? I suppose if it does then it isn't for spraying water.

Do birds still do ironing as a seemingly natural thing? Or has that passed like so many aspects of life from my generation?

As my missus doesn't iron anything of hers (and you would never notice) and thus the only thing ever ironed at our place is work shirts for me (rarely now as I work from home), I have always done all the ironing! My 15 quid Argos purchase pumps steam out the bottom?

I wouldn't say ironing comes naturally to me Reg. I hate it and avoid it if at all possible!

Reminds me of a story about Brian Clough... as told by Dean Saunders
I guess the moral of that story is that Sippo should become an internationally recognised football manager, then get the England captain to fix his iron for him.

I do much the same given the right diet but you wouldn't use me to de-crease your shirts ...

However, by the sounds of it you do it, probably because you want the kids to look smart at school etc.
