Is this fantastic news. He was one of the favourites for qpr last week. How anyone can be disappointed I don't know. This is one of the biggest appointments in league 1. Welcome Tim, hopefully the players can a boost from learning off someone with your experience and that it will be a big pull for recruitment
I had been expecting we could look forward to dominating European Club Football for decades, so this is a little disappointing.
Nevertheless this
is something of a coup - even if it turns out to be as short term as Lingy's appointment
My conjecture is that this new arrangement will not (like any arrangement for LW) expose STFC to any onerous long term liabilities but is rather a good interim measure that suits both parties. For now, Ling's involvement last year was the key to us avoiding relegation and if Tim Sherwood's involvement achieves the same then that will be great.
And back to fantasy, if the relationship continues with some success between Power and Sherwood, then there could also be longer term benefits to involve a properly funded Red Bull-style model of player development and sale married to some success on the pitch for STFC.
Anyway, welcome Tim - this is an exciting appointment!
