I saw a story posted yesterday that a guy in bath had pleaded guilty to the rape of a 13 year old girl at knifepoint. He got 6 and a half years.
Surely based on Johnson's sentence he should have got much longer

Had a little dig around and reckon the grooming charge may well have been a big factor int the sentence. Guideline is a minimum of 2 years if intention includes to have sex and given the evidence that has been reported on abouth the potential for having an STD, that is listed as an aggravating facor for a judge considering length of sentence. I would guess this is seen as a serious offence in it's own right.

Think you will find the Judge gave him a lot harder sentence as he did not plead guilty till two weeks before the trial. If he had pleaded earlier he could have saved the victim months of anguish.
