This team vastly exceeded everyone's expectations during the first half of the season. To their credit, they performed amazingly over 25 games. Maybe just unrealistic to have expected them to sustain it over 46?
Other than (bizarrely) our two Asian Cup heroes returning, I can't put my finger on what changed at the start of February that caused our form to turn. Maybe our young squad has simply run out of steam? It's disappointing but, with hindsight, not an enormous surprise.
Still, there is time to regroup at least.

We've gone from poor at the back to suicidal, and from fantastic in attack to utterly toothless.
Byrne was absolutely running games in the first half of the season, but now seems to have faded badly.
Its all so, so disappointing.
