Milton Keynes makes me want to chew my own fingers off.  It's like Swindon with all of the character removed.  I nearly lost the will to live the last time I went to Gillingham (and that was even before the 3-0 defeat).  Gloucester depresses me every time I go there.  And if we're going north of the border as well, Paisley and East Kilbride are up there with all of these...but also have to contend with a sheen of grey drizzle for 300 days a year.

I should also have mentioned Port Glasgow.  Post-industrial decay at its worst.  The only good thing about it is the view across the Clyde.

I dislike Oxford....nothing particularly to do with football, shithole polluted by too many people and too much traffic....always glad to return to the fresher air of Swindon.

I dislike Oxford too, excluding the average city centre which as you state is very poluted and awful to drive anywhere near any of the outlying satellite areas are horrible, Blackbird Leys say no more. Also in 1988 I had an RS2000 nicked from Swindon and it was found in Poxford, that I cannot forgive ever.

To add to the list...might I add Leith, the place is horrible with such a great city as Edinburgh so close to it, the people there revel in the nickname Leitheopians, also has one of the highest rates of drug deaths in the UK per head of the population. Shudders.

Trowbridge has got to be in the running by virtue of its town centre. Vile place.  Angry

Absolutely. I've no idea how it escapes these lists. The town centre was a derelict shithole in the most affluent of times, god knows what its like now.

If town centre is part of the criteria then Swindon itself must be right up there.
Just spent the day in Uxbridge ( daughters uni there ) and for a place of around 26k population + the students it knocks Swindon into a cocked hat.
2 malls, decent selection of shops and a notable lack of chavs, although the Weatherspoons had its usual share of pissheads.

I'd like to cast a vote for Chatham.  A truly awful place with no redeeming qualities whatsoever.

It pains me to say that Swindon would be near the top of a lot of people's lists, too!  Sad

Historic Dockyards are quite good, that discounts Chatham.
