Yeah....Mick Kearns was yer man.  I'm not sure whether it was a loan as such, as I'm not sure you had loans in 1970.



There's Mick....tall fella between Joey Butler and David Dangerfield.

Mick was an ugly spud of a bloke (no Irish pun intended).

Mick was an ugly spud of a bloke (no Irish pun intended).

Went on to be a bit of a legend at Walsall....both as a player then back room staff.

I remember Trevor Anderson scoring a hattrick of penalties against him in 76.

He always had a good game against the Town and was a big old unit with a shock of frizzy ginger hair.

I hadn't twigged it was Kearns in goal when Anderson achieved his feat...

I do like that pic....not just because of Mick Kearns, but the random Italian kids in it, maybe the ball boys....and you can tell from the distracted look on some players' faces, that it's kicking off big style somewhere.
