I parked by that Burger King for the Stevenage game and i have been hit with a 'parking charge'.

£100 reduced to £60 blah ....i over stayed my time etc etc.

My understanding is that only Plod and Councils can issue fines and these are just 'invoices' with no legal remit to pay.

Is this right? Hmmm

Any web links with info.

The complication is that its a Company car and i dont want a load of shit arriving there.

Advice and abuse please.

Just admit it, you knew it was cheeky parking there and you probably ignored any signs on purpose to plead your ignorance.

Next time don't be such a lazy cunt and it won't happen again.

I heard he parked his car half in a disabled space, half in a mother and toddler space, just because.

He also ran over a litter of puppies. I know because I heard their squeals as he tried to run over the kittens in the next space.

He told me he had them scalped & the fur made into new seat covers.

1: If it was private motor, I'd ignore EVERYTHING they send, or use it as toilet paper.

That includes the threats, phoney lawyers letters, court warrants, distraint bailiff letters etc etc (it takes some bollocks to ignore it all, because it's designed to scare the shit out of you with all those 'pay us a few quid now and we'll keep it at a manageble level' threats - but you'll keep ALL your money in your pocket if you've got the balls to see out the game.

As it's a Company car though, all the bullshit letters and threats will go your HR or transport manager - which is harder to ignore for obvious reasons.

I'd warn your HR / Transport manager about the problem, aks them to 'shop' you by giving them your details as the 'possible' driver on the day, and ask them to send all correspondance to your home address.

Then simply repeat step 1 above.

You can have great fun with it because they do get really lairy with all the letters and threats and the official looking letters with police-stylee checker board motifs all over them.

But it's all a money making game being run by some limp-dicked bunch of wankers in a rented office who buy your info from the DVLA for £5.00 a pop, in the hope that you're stupid and will pay up when they scare you enough.

The game works really well on the uninformed, old people, vulnerable people, busy people etc....

Dont bite. Dont write back or reply to anything they send you. They will go away when they realise you're not playing their cunty game.

I've done this myself half a dozen times in various 'Private' car parks in Swindon, such as Tesco, Aldi, Burger King and Co-Op.

It works.

Pepipoo (what an absolute shite name for a parking / traffic fine website) is very, very good and gives valuable advice and support with this bullshit. Definately have a good look there.

And please let us know how you get on?

I got a "parking charge" for parking in Go Outdoors for 4.5 hours!!  Did drive through the car park but at no time did I park there.  I could prove I was elsewhere and I told them that I had no intention of paying as I could prove I was elsewhere for three of the four hours mentioned and would see them in court, got a reply that they had reviewed all the data and on this occasion had decided to rescind the charge.  Went in and showed the manager the two letters and told him our family will no longer be shopping there in the future, got a gift voucher for my troubles!!

I got clamped at Newquay train station about 20 years ago,  the guys had just put it on as I got to the car. Had only parked for 5-10 mins to drop some people off! The sign warning of clamping was behind a parked car. The bloke was built like a brick shit house,  and I decided on diplomacy after he exchanged pleasantries with a passing copper,  on first name terms. £60 later and it was off.
