It's marginal, but if the alternative to living in Swindon is to return to an Egypt on the verge of civil war I can just about see his point. If he gets homesick for all the chaos and strife he can always ask to be taken on a Saturday night out in Swindon. Perhaps a former central defender (now residing in the Bristol area) may care to take him on it?  Cheesy

He actually reminds me of Kerrouche. That may be just because they are both of Arab extraction but I think there are similarities there playing-wise as well.

Works for me.

As it happens there are more specific issues of that nature affecting El Gabbas' first club, Al Masri, in Port Said.  Last year 73 people were killed in fighting at a game there against a Cairo team resulting this year in very contentious and allegedly political death sentences made against over 20 people.
