I've read some twaddle on this forum but that's bang up there.

Why is it, exactly?

All I was saying that if the Trust, and the rest of the fanbase, had remained diligent during the period of Fitton / Wray / Black's ownership, they may have had some form of plan in place to at least try and take a hold of the club. It's hypothetical and I can't prove whether or not it would have happened, but there's no need to be a cunt. I know it's your MO and what not but it's a little tedious.

As for the 'Your funds and business acumen' I don't work or have any sort of role within the trust.

I mean the Trust, not you individually.

Running a football club is a full tiem job and you need money behind you. Not a bunch of eggs with replica shirts and shit hair styles.

The fans consortium headed by Power (not that one) was probably more along the lines of a fan takeover would consist of and not pauld going bald again trying to ensure there is a sufficient supply of chips in the Town End at half-time.

The problem is finding someone wealthy enough who is open to fan cooperation.

"Missed an opportunity in January to have fan ownership." Oh yes, with all your funds and business acumen.

I've read some twaddle on this forum but that's bang up there.

Firstly, a bit far fetched to suggest there is NO ONE among the fan base with any business acumen, how do you think other trusts (Pompey, Exeter etc) get by?

Secondly, and this isn't a criticism of the man merely an observation as I see it; I'm not sure Jed had much in the way of 'funds' before Power came along either.

Agree with that totally, and that's my biggest concern. I'm not totally for a fan takeover personally, but if there ever was to be one, January was certainly the biggest opportunity.

It's all ifs ands or buts, but who knows what the Trust may have achieved had they set out the goals they're setting out now a few years earlier.

Business acumen is about things like running a business that makes money, keeping customers happy and not having to deal with corrupt bastards and their dog's bank account in Monaco. Therefore anyone with a shred of business acumen wouldn't touch a football club with yours.

You need business acumen and an insane passion for the club, for which you are likely to get no thanks and make no money. Nigel Doughty (Forest fan and multi-millionaire) used to say that being chairman of Forest was like paying millions of pounds year for his season ticket, and having every other fan hate him for not paying enough. There aren't exactly people queuing round the block for the chance.

it's so nice to have you back.

True...with Morshead seemingly in the naughty corner, some of us rely on Chang to know what is happening at the CG.

You would employ someone to run the club who would be on the clubs wage bill? Like a Nick Watkins perhaps.

"A bunch of eggs"? Did I miss the bit where the vernacular of Billy Bunter and his Greyfriars chums came back into vogue? How very topping!

It never went out of vogue, amongst public schoolboys.
