won't the drink money go to the catering company we did a deal with
I thought that was only soft drinks and food? Even so it could have been a case of lose £300k or spent £100k to underwrite it and pocket the £200k

They may still recoup some of what they had to pay out (that's just a guess) Another guess is that they may have done it with future concerts in mind as having these cancel would do little for the credibility of further attempts.

Not if the promoters go bust they won't. Which must still be a possibility - certainly the ticket sales won't have made anywhere near enough to cover the £300k payout, never mind the £100k+ bailout and whatever other costs the promoters have incurred. Don't think we'll be seeing much, if any, of that £300k tbh
