Arse. Terrible for all concerned.

Was quite sobering to see the police en mass down the Chip-Calne cycle path near the river today.

Very sad indeed. Also saw police searching around the bottom of Derry Hill this week, being so close to home is a bit surreal.

Extremely upsetting news.  I knew him to chat to, because a friend of mine works in the same team.  Lovely chap.  Thoughts are with his family.

Really sad, my husband knows his wife, at least he's found now so she can have some closure?

Had a horrible feeling that might be the outcome.  How awful.

Obviously don't know the ins and outs, but if you're in a group that's been drinking, why separate and leave someone to their own devices near water?

Because they're adults and should be able to take care of themselves. Surely we've all been out on the piss London, Bath, Bristol, Swindon wherever in large groups only for one or two to wander off that's the way it goes.

Sad this chap has ended up the way he has (and I'm not trying to offend at all) but questioning why they separated is a little bit odd to me. It happens.

I get your point, but not really the same as leaving one of your drunk friends to go swimming on their own which is apparently what happened.  Uness you think there's nothing wrong with that either?

What, they actually left their mate pissed up swimming? In that case I retract my above thoughts. If that's the case then they should have a word with themselves, they should have made sure he was out. Flip me, if that's the case,  they'll be having some sleepless nights thinking about that in the coming weeks and months.

I bow to your superior knowledge on this one Jo.

And thoughts with the chaps family, 2 young blokes in a few weeks, and so close to home. Goes to show how life can change as you know it in an instant.
