This isn't the Football Rumours website, Venkman.

On a related note - good trolling by Clark. A free transfer after rejecting six figure bids? Fucking hell.

Well obviously, if another club wants to stump up a fee, then fine. We would let him leave for free, for the same reason we let Simon Ferry leave on a free.

But Simon Ferry was out of contract. Caddis has a year left so we'd be dumb to let him go for a free if we can get a fee.

Obviously its a big if, which I guess is what you are making the point about.

We could have activated Ferry's option, and looked for a fee, but chose not to...presumaby because of a shortage of takers. Maybe someone will come in with a bid for Caddis, in which case fine....more likely though, they'll gamble on us not wanting a high wage disaffected player around the place.

If that were the case wouldn't we have accepted this bid?

I cannot envisage a lack of interest for Caddis.

Clark is calling our bluff but if we did let him go on a free? Christ.

Sell him or play him. It's not rocket science... He's worth the wages for an extra years service anyway.

Earlier on you were happy to cite actions that occurred in March to back up you up, yet now the rejected bids for Caddis which happened AFTER the sale of Ritchie are disregarded because 'that was some time ago'?

As I say we'll see....I don't think Caddis will be a player here next season, it would be preferable if someone comes in with a bid, but if they don't we'll look to get someone else to pay his wages.

If we don't manage to sell him we will (as you say) try and loan him out to another team who are willing to pay his wages with maybe a clause that they can buy him for a nominal sum in January.

However, the one thing I would make sure of based on this story (if I were in charge) is that we loan him to any club except Birmingham City

I would love to see Caddis and Nate Dog being played together - Caddis on the wing with the dog at right back.

Personally, I think we should now sell him to Aston Villa and then burn the proceeds in an elaborate ceremony
