Just need to enjoy it for what it is....love it, absolutely brilliant 👏👏👏
Absolutely this. And if it helps bring more people to be interested in football, more people to have access to football and more development in other areas of football that currently aren't funded as well as the men's game then this should also be seen as a positive.
Football {like other sports} should always be seen as a universally accessible sport. These absolute misogynist {in the main} plonkers on social media, that have been spouting garbage about the women's efforts and achievements, probably need to have a word with themselves.
A Venn diagram tells us that a lot of those types will also say they are ''patriotic'' and ''English through and through'', yet when the Women's International Football team have success...their ''patriotism'' seems to go out the window and they become full of hate. The fucking weirdos.
As you say OST, a tournament win should be bloody celebrated. I was certainly proud to see an England team win a final on penos. It didn't matter one iota whether this was the Men, Women, Youths, Blind, Futsal or Gay team etc that won a tournament - I'd celebrate with national pride in exactly the same way; maybe even with a smidge of grit in my eye too {but I'm an emotional soul}
