Congrats to them.

I see Joey Barton already cannot resist bashing it on social media.

On the other hand, I hope I don't see any snarly comments from women saying they've done what the men couldn't do.

Wouldn't it just be nice if we can just appreciate something for what it is, without the nonsense that comes with it all.

On the other hand I did have a wry smile when they said they're the only side men or womens to win on foreign soil when the youths have plenty of times even with this year the U21s won in Slovakia.

Can't say England have never won the euros obviously talking about the men without some smarmy sanctimonious silly prick piping up and reminding you the women have when that isn't the conversation.

The comparison has always baffled me. Same when they were discussing Ellen White overtaking Wayne Rooney. It's just utter drivel. Completely different universes.

I know I shouldn't let the minority get to me but I can't help it. I'm sure most Women football fans couldn't give a fuck about the comparison.

Those who try to push those narratives, well, let's just say the lioness' are welcome to take penalties against Gianluigi Donarumma and see how they get on.

Absolutely this. And if it helps bring more people to be interested in football, more people to have access to football and more development in other areas of football that currently aren't funded as well as the men's game then this should also be seen as a positive.

Football {like other sports} should always be seen as a universally accessible sport. These absolute misogynist {in the main} plonkers on social media, that have been spouting garbage about the women's efforts and achievements, probably need to have a word with themselves.

A Venn diagram tells us that a lot of those types will also say they are ''patriotic'' and ''English through and through'', yet when the Women's International Football team have success...their ''patriotism'' seems to go out the window and they become full of hate. The fucking weirdos.

As you say OST, a tournament win should be bloody celebrated. I was certainly proud to see an England team win a final on penos. It didn't matter one iota whether this was the Men, Women, Youths, Blind, Futsal or Gay team etc that won a tournament - I'd celebrate with national pride in exactly the same way; maybe even with a smidge of grit in my eye too {but I'm an emotional soul}  Embarrassed

Also, although I have a soft spot for Rangers (my father in law was a season ticket holder there) to see them go out of UEFA Champions League to Club Brugge 6-0 (9-1 on aggregate) is truly awful, also Celtic going out to Kairat (ranked 255 places below them) shows the standard of the Scottish Premier League really does seem to be getting worse.

I know its a bit late but well done Grimsby Town, enjoy your success and short lived fame on national TV and news as long as it lasts.

Days like that dont happen often and stay with you all your life.

I really enjoyed the Christy Pym interview where he was talking about how he was a United fan and is therefore a bit annoyed about the highlight of his own career.
