Appears Coventry have just an inept board as ourselves.
They put one of the companies into administration, stating it had nothing to do with the football side, only to find out it actually handled player contracts, TV money etc - so they have actually managed to do the one thing they set out to avoid.
No way they are avoiding 10 point deduction now.
I do feel for their fans

I assume Coventry have also been placed under an embargo by the FL?
They were already under an embargo, from March 1st

And the league "golden share" appears to be registered under the company in admin. They could be gone if it is.

They hired a few big vans today and moved all their stuff out of the Ricoh Arena. Not looking good.
They've got a home game next Friday, what happens if they can't play at the Ricoh? Too late for an alternate venue, can't see the FL seeing the funny side of all this.

That would be a points deduction wouldn't it? 3 from memory of recent times when clubs have threatened to not fulfill a fixture.

Hadn't thought of that. Someone (Blackburn or Boro?) got a 3 point penalty for cancelling a fixture without a good reason, even though the game was replayed. I still don't buy that the FL have agreed to them playing elsewhere, even if they have (or do) it will be too late for next Friday - think the Police require 10 days notice for starters.

Boro I think. And ouch, just saw someone tweet (@AnthonyBartram), the Coventry club shop is 100% emptied of stock. Those moving lorries were no hoax!

Yea it was Boro who called a game off (at Blackburn) in 1997, the year they had Ravenelli and the Brazilian mob and got relegated. Think it was because they couldn't field a team due to injuries and it resulted in a point deduction

I think Cov had been in talks with Nuneaton at some point with regards to playing games there. All a bit different from when we were there a matter of weeks ago. I'm almost glad they've made a stand as a club over the extortionate rates of rent, without the club playing there, the stadium owners will struggle to make money. It's a classic example of how football has become far too much about what money can be made from it, having said that it's a risky tactic and they stupidly agreed to the terms in the first place believing the team would always do the business on the pitch..........short sighted to the extreme

But at the same time ACL built a brand new stadium that Coventry FC could not afford to build themselves. Its not surprising they want some return on that investment.

Of course they are and I'm sure the returns from the casino on match day alone are quite healthy. The amount charged in rent surely wasn't due to go down once all initial investment was re-couped?

it was boro, bryan robson was in charge and i think half the team had the flu. cov were in talks in december about moving to nene park, formally of kettering and rushden if the situation wasn't resolved.
