To be fair the A420 is a nightmare. People are also struggling to get up the hill on Thamesdown drive going away from asda.

I await with glee the first news footage of madly wheel-spinning BMW's going backwards down a hill.

They always have it and it always makes me laugh.

Tried to get the bus to devizes. Took 15 minutes to get up vic hill sideswiping a tree on the way, cracking one of the windows. Got a call once I got to the top telling me no to bother, which was fortunate as the bus was going no further anyway.

Had to walk to the town center to get the bus home, which was fun in the flattest, most rubber-soled shoes known to man. Got the bus then had to walk most of the way anyway because akers way was a standstill.

And that was the story of the day I didn't go to work.

and in the DM it is compulsory for every weather related story to incude in the title (in brackets) how long said forecast is set to last, ala

(and forecasters say it will last for a whole WEEK)

I hate the DM

Bollocks to namby pamby, it's fucking treacherous on the roads. I'm at work (19 miles each way). Ain't got a fucking clue how I get home.

Have you forgotten where you live?

Make sure you clear the snow off it first, that'll make it a bit lighter.

Winter tyres are mandatory in winter in Luxembourg. However not in France so when it snows the French are the ones that often get stuck/cause the accidents.

It does snow more in Luxembourg than the UK granted but food for thought.

I was surprised at the amount of delivery drivers/HGV's out on the roads. Shocked that the 'foreign' ones bombing along at 50mph in the outside lane on the 419.

i collected the wife from work the other night and despite having winter tyres, i was drifting a fair bit on roundabouts and nearly didn't stop in time for some junctions.

why the fuck anyone would drive with normal tyres in snow is beyond me
