Anyone helping out with the cooking?

I'm doing ham with black treacle and orange glaze and stilton pastry parcels.

I usually cook for Christmas, but the parents are taking us out this year.  Still popping some Turkey in the oven though, just for sarnies in the evening.

Last year I did a nice Goose, along with the Turkey, Beef and Ham!  Seemed like a good idea when I wasn't thinking about how to time all that in one oven.

Also cook a nice breakfast, Eggs Benedict this year.  I quite enjoy cooking, trying out new things and seeing how they turn out, sipping a wine or seven while pottering about.  Floyd had the right approach.

Some of the larger shops try to make the most from the commercialism but apart from that it is barely celebrated at all. Just a normal day really, albeit with a few tress and lights about the place.

I actually cooked a Christmas dinner 2 years ago. It was the first Christmas I'd moved into my flat so on boxing day I cooked for my 2 best mates.

Would have been nice to have kept it going as a sort of yearly tradition to take it in turns. It lasted a whole 1 year because the following year a mates other half didnt want to hold it at her house and the other mate is all loved up and has pretty much ditched us.

bah fucking humbug....

I'm doing the big lunch this year, parents & in-laws coming round. Mrs Blah will probably try to help but end up getting in the way so I'll send her off with another G&T while I sort everything. Got a turkey crown stuffed with Duck & Venison this year  Eat 

In the past we've alternated with parents & in-laws, but I think I prefer to do it myself - its a lot of work but you get the food you want and can spend the day with a drink on the go rather than worrying about driving home.

Bucks fizz and smoked salmon and scrambled egg for brekkie. Mrs flash to prepare.

Sirloin joint and turkey crown...lunch...I cook beef and mrs flash the rest.

Boiling ham joint now.....me....

In the food trade so can get stuff a but cheaper.

Hopefully adding in some Truffle shavings and Shitake mushrooms this year, also using soda bread just so as it's a bit different from year to year.

I do all the cooking and do all year round.

Just in from work, about to go boil/bake the bacon and make the giblet stock ready for the gravy. Will make a trifle while that is on the go. Will make th stuffing, pigs on blankets etc in the morning after the kids have opened their pressies and settled down on the playstation.

We always have the wife's family on Christmas day, and my lot on boxing day, so feed getting on for 30 over the 2 days. I basically don't leave the kitchen for 2 days apart from walking the dog - heaven!

only a slight exageration, but just about the only time of the year that I do most of the cooking.

Started with mulled wine tonight and just about to take the sugar & mustard glazed gammon out of the oven.

Tomorrow starts with bucks fizz, scrambled eggs & smoked salmon before turkey, stuffing, bread sauce, roasted root veg, roast spuds late afternoon.
Been pretty much unchanged menu since we moved here over 20 years ago but I think the family would revolt if it changed substantially - it's our traditional Christmas.
