Went up there a few years' ago when we got beat 2-1 (?) and the Macc fans were altogether welcoming in their pubs both before and after the game. For a town of it's size and the surrounding area rammed with league clubs, they need not be ashamed with the crowds they attract.

we re not quite the pub team some of you make us out
The words "pub team" are yours not ours, no one in Swindon is underestimating Macclesfield, that would be stupid especially after you turned us over last season convincingly and then we struggled to beat you with quite a late goal from Benson. TBH your attendances are to be expected considering your town size and the availability of big sides within a short distance but 38 is frankly awful for any away game. I hope you do play "gung ho" because that will make it a very entertaining game with Swindon playing a good passing game creating many chances. I think the County Ground will be a hard place for you to visit and get a result but we have lost at home to a couple of poor sided this season in Orient and Col U so anything can happen. For all you fact lovers out there here are 3 of the most well known exports from Macclesfield....

Macclesfield will be my 4 year old daughter's first ever Town game. She's already practicing her best chants (not the Oxf*rd ones though - might save explaining their lyrical content until she's a bit older).
To be honest I'm quite excited about the prospect - been patiently waiting for the day I can drag the kids along with me, if it all goes well she'll be a fully signed up Junior Red next year.

One day it's the kids and before you know it it's a tartan blanket round your knees and a thermos.
Hope she enjoys it

No disgrace being a Macc fan. I thought they took a few to Chelsea the other year. As said already their fans were a decent bunch last season when we got turned over. Like seeing a few other team fans on this forum makes it more interesting. Even the chap from Preston who is now helping Police with their enquiries along with Freddie Starr
