Taken fron thisis:

Quote
As for the mystery non-League man, King said it was one of those rare moments of joy when a scouting trip came up trumps.

He said: “It’s one that excites me. I’m very, very keen and the offer’s been made.

“It isn’t one for the fans as he isn’t known.

“Sometimes you get lovely surprises, half the time you’re wasting your time and your petrol.

“On this occasion a young kid jumped out at me. Whether it happens I’ll know within the next 24 hours I hope.”

King actually seeems genuinly excited about this guy - not like the others in the past where he's just said that he sees a little something in them, and they may be able to handle it.

In this case he seems very positive.  Hope he really is a gem.

Yeah be interesting to see what kind of player this fella is.  Also this guy with international caps, hope it's a centre half, get a bit of experience and organisation at the back.

King's record with this type of signing is ropy, so he's about due to get a good one, but  we'll have to wait and see.....I certainly wont be getting too excited.

I was surprised to read in the Adver that Chris Taylor still has a year left, I assumed he was given a run out in pre-season as a favour to help him find a non league side.

Last season he was barely getting a game for the reserves....couple of years ago he looked like a promising player, but like so many, just hasn't developed.

He does sound quite impressive and for a transfer fee, even a minimal one, he must see something quite special in the lad.

Wonder who the part-timer will be.  Keown, Lomas?Huh?

and why do I know that, was it a comedy sketch or a real show back in the 50's/60's.

Something about a horse that could speak I think - so not real.  I hope. :?

Yeah, it was comedy I believe - Harry Enfield used it as inspiration for his Mr. Dead sketches, about - believe it or not - a talking corpse.

Hopefully he will be at least a first team player, we don't want any new players to be sat on the bench.

That's it, the actor shares the very same name as our Onion Jimbo.

It could be Henry Mcstay, but I heard a while back that Grays Athletic have a 19 year old winger who Wenger was looking at.  I hope its him.

I bet you any money it isn't.

Maybe it is Glenn Armstrong of Calne Town?
