His lucky hat was edited from the image.

They used his image without asking him first? I'm guessing he thought it wasn't fair on the fans if he suddenly buggered off in the summer.

The most logical explanation is something to do with his mother being ill. So I'm going to take that as the real reason and be done with it.

Watkins said on the radio this morning that was the main reason. Paolo was going to spend the summer with her but was too late

Also there may have been a few other stressful things for him which have been going on (I assume to do with the club).
