Open top buses are pretty dated now and probably costs more than we think.

A party sounds like a sound idea.

No need for an open-top bus really, is there? The general consensus is we shouldn't have ended up in League Two in the first place, so now parity has been restored. Sounds like a great idea to celebrate promotion with a big party, as Paolo, the players and everybody else have done a great job, but splashing out £20k would be unnecessary.

I think the party is a good idea. The figure of £20,000 was the cost for an open top bus parade in 2010, the party would be considrably lower than that.

Agree with both comments.  Not wanting to belittle the achievments of Paolo and the players this season, but promotion back to League 1 really just puts us back where we should have been.  We are not a Division 4 club; only 6 or 7 seasons during our 130+ year history have been played at this level.  Sadly, 2 of those season happen to have fallen during the last 10 years...all the more reason to stop the rot and get out of this division at the first opportunity.

The real challenge begins this summer.  Having completed the groundwork, Paolo now needs to have the club challenge for a return to the Championship.  Achieve that, and he will have his open top bus tour...and his legacy.
