Got to feel for Neil Sullivan who I believe was on the receiving end of three contenders. Beckham's half way effort, Yeboah's vs Wimbledon and Paolo's if I'm not mistaken.
Loved Trevor Sinclair's overhead kick.

I'd stick Sinclair's on the shortlist ahead of Cantona's chip... There I said it.

Wasn't that goal in the FA Cup though?

Bergkamp meant it - he was already spinning around to get it as he flicked it. Not as good as vs Argentina in 98 though.
Tough choice - PDC's was class, so was Le Tiss, Rooneys was a technical masterpiece but hes a cunt so won't vote for him.
I'd go for Keith Scott vs QPR.

If that's why then so be it. I still think that's there's probably better goals from less adored Premier League alumni.

I have no problem with the celebration being nominated, it encapsulated everything that was great about Eric Cantona when he was playing.
Arrogance but the ability to get away with it!

You lot have swallowed the Sky mythology that top flight football has only existed for 20 years hook line and sinker. Incidently the two sides in tonight's gig match, are managed by the two highest ranked goalscorers, in the last 20 years, currently managing...PdC and Reg Holdsworth, something like 46 and 49 on the list.

If there was a Football League awards poll out there I'm sure we'd all happily vote and discuss.

I know a lot of people hated him, but I fucking loved Shearer. If we had at least one player in the England squad with only 75% of his desire to play and win, the Euro's might've been worth watching.

I hated Shearer only after he moved to the Geordies, dunno why I just did. But I loved him for England.
He is the best striker I have seen play for England in the flesh. I have attended England games with Shearer, Keegan, Owen, Lineker & Rooney and he is the best for me. He made Euro 96 worth watching.
