They won best chippy in area in 2006. Wasn't impressed myself (in 2006 that is).
Been using Peatmoor more recently, excellent fish n chips if you ask me. Which you didn't.

Just don't have a take away from Lees next door. I used to go there now and then until I saw one of the chefs manning the counter while Kobi (lovely oriental yum yum lady was not there) picking his nose while watching the TV waiting for customers. If I wanted an extra portion of stir fried snot I'd have made my own.

I like the one in Peatmoor too. Is the one in York Road near the CG still there?

Mr Cod does great chips, but the fish is virtually just batter (ie. shit)

I've not had Peatmoor fish and chips for ages and to be fair there is a reason for that. My missus goes there when I work away for herself and our lad for convenience but she won't buy any for me if she goes there when I'm home.

Yep, still there and still serving good f&c. Never been in the one on the Magic Roundabout but there is always a crowd there when they are open. The one down the bottom end of Ferndale Road is ok, but the one on the crossroads, North Star is absolute pants.

They do charge for Ketchup though, which should be illegal.

I always go into The Frying Fish on the MR. Top quality and value for money...and he's normally very busy.
Went in there on Good Friday, and when I left people were queing to nearly the traffic lights...and that was a non-matchday !!

Their fish and chips are always top notch, match day special of Jumbo sausage and chips £2, great value compared to food inside the ground.
