Strange how the other bloke got away with it, considering he took her back to the hotel.

The BBC reports suggest they were both involved. Obviously not heard the evidence given but it does seem odd for one to walk away while the other gets 5 years.

I think his mate took her back to the hotel, then Evans had a go. Maybe the fact she went back with the other lad implied consent on his part?

Bit strange that the 12 people on the jury can say one is definately not guilty and the same 12 say the other is definately guilty  Hmmm

Presume there must be more to this than has been publicly released?

That's definitely a weird one !!

They both admitted having sex with her - and it was the other fella who took her back to the hotel...

They found cannabis and cocaine in her blood (but she claimed to never have taken either) and she didn't report the incident until that evening having gone to work on a late shift (not that this makes anyone less guilty)

Just all a bit weird !!

What i don't understand is how these situations arise again and again! Time after time footballers get accused of raping drunken girls and time after time these girls put themselves into potentially risky situations. Why do they not learn from the mistakes of others! Either the guys think they can take advantage of drunken girls or they use their status to attract the girls. On the flip side these girls often seem to go with the footballers to make a fast buck (just check the Sunday papers most weeks) or they go out, get trashed and end up in a dangerous situation. I'm not condoning either party but it riles me that people put themselves in these positions!

A lot of footballers think they can do what they want to who they want and get away with it.

Good ridance

I hope there is someone in jail that takes the same line that he did on consent

On a football note, makes Wilson's job a hell of a lot harder to get sheffield up. Wouldnt be surprised to see Wednesday sneak up with Charlton now

Evans scored 25 odd goals i think?
