I've noticed an undercurrent of opinion on TEF that "expects" us to be promoted this year.

I am a natural pessimistic - and I don't expect promotion (I bloody well hope for it), I just can't help thinking that come May and if we haven't made it - how much shit we are going to get from the likes of Torquay, poxo and the rest....

Seconded.  For the record, I don't expect promotion either.  If I had to put money on our most likely finish right now, I'd probably go for 4th on the basis that I think we'll finish well but none of the top three are dropping enough points at the moment.  That said, 4th would disappoint me.  We'd be in the play offs...which are a complete lottery.  I don't want to put myself through that again, especially when there's a 75% chance that it won't end well.

 I do worry a little that it appears that "we" or a significant number of our fans are "expecting" promotion - and we are gaining a bit of a WACCOE reputation! We are clearly ambitious and quite rightly so - afterall we are Swindon and we do what we like, but fuck me it'll be embarassing if we fail.

As for the player, a league one player with 2 goals to his name? theres a lot of those out there!

I am also pleased he wont stand for any arrogance from potential signings.

This. Most Town fans would say we're too big for this division and that a club of our size should get promoted. Leeds crossed the line by saying that they deserved to win the league because they were too big, and that they shouldn't have been there in the first place. We all know we eserve to be here, and we know it's not easy to get back up to League One.
